Have you seen our new look? Our website got an upgrade over the summer as we joined the Iowa AEA family on the web. If you haven't already, we encourage you to take a look at our new space and become familiar with the new layout for contract and purchasing information. 

ServSafe Success
In June of 2023, the AEA Purchasing Food Team taught 13 ServSafe classes across the state of Iowa. 407 AEA Purchasing members from 150 school districts attended class, and 334 (80%) received passing scores of 70% or higher to earn their Food Protection Manager Certification. If someone from your district earned their certification, be sure to give them a pat on the back! Thank you to all who attended classes, and furthered their knowledge of food safety. We appreciate each one of you.

2023 Summer Cut Paper Buy

Sand Sketching

As we enter the “dog days” of summer, there’s no better time to consider how we can create a work of art using the most basic of outdoor play materials – sand.  A mess-free sand art creation doesn’t have to

be a mirage – and in this project, we’ll show you how!  Mix colored sand with Elmer’s School Glue, to

make a sand “paint”. Participants develop their masterpieces with little mess but plenty of inspiration. 

BLICK Canvas Panels serve as the foundation while different tools, such as squeeze bottles and wooden craft sticks, make it easy to manipulate the material and free the artist to play in their own creative sandbox.
